About the Baker

On one rainy and cool July afternoon I decided to rekindle the fickle relationship I had with baking.  I had spent my day up in the mountains and had planned to go on a pretty difficult hike when the lightning and thunder chased me away.  I drove home, disappointed that the day's hike had been cut short when the thought of my family's chocolate chip cookies randomly floated into my head. My stomach growled at the thought of them and that was when I decided I would spend the rest of this summer day baking.  I went to the store and grabbed the familiar baking ingredients I had always used. I assembled each ingredient into one large mixing bowl and waited patiently for 20 minutes while they sizzled away in the oven.  When I pulled out the pan of golden-brown gloriousness I knew I had made the right decision to give baking another chance.

Since that day, I have expanded my baking horizons and have tried new recipes.  I started baking so much that I had to give some to my close friends (that, and I needed to stop eating 100 cookies a day).  I then discovered that I liked getting complimented on my perfect cooking skills and wanted to spread the joy that my cooking evoked.  People started to ask me for my recipes and since they were becoming so popular I decided to post them online so everyone could enjoy my family's baking recipes!

I hope that all of you think my blog is super cool, and I hope you don't fuck up too badly while baking them!

Your friend,

Emilie
